À propos de cet outil

Open a .zip archive and download individual files, or extract everything at once. Useful when you only need one file from a large archive, when your OS doesn't have a built-in extractor, or when you want to preview an archive's contents before unpacking.

Privvert reads the archive in your browser - no upload - and lets you click any file to download it directly, or extract the whole thing as separate downloads.

Fonctionnalités

  • Lists every file in the archive with size
  • Preview text files inline before extracting
  • Per-file or extract-all download
  • Handles nested folders
  • Reads standard ZIP and ZIP64 archives
  • Browser-only - archives never uploaded
  • Free and unlimited
  • Lists every file before extraction so you can pick exactly what to download

Comment l'utiliser

  1. Drop in a .zip archive.
  2. Browse the file list.
  3. Click any file to download it, or click Extract All.

Questions fréquentes

Are encrypted ZIPs supported?

Password-protected (encrypted) ZIP archives aren't supported in the browser yet. Use a desktop tool for those.

Can I extract RAR or 7z files?

Currently ZIP only. RAR and 7z support is on the roadmap.

How big can the archive be?

Limited by browser memory. Multi-GB archives work on desktops with plenty of RAM; phones may struggle past a few hundred MB.

Will folder structure be preserved?

Yes - extracted files keep their folder paths in the filenames. 'Extract All' produces individual downloads with the original paths.

What about password-protected ZIPs?

Standard ZIP password encryption is supported - enter the password when prompted. AES-encrypted ZIPs (created by 7-Zip or WinZip with the stronger option) need a desktop tool; the browser's built-in support covers classic ZIP encryption only.

Does it handle very large archives?

Yes, but everything has to fit in memory while extracting. Multi-GB archives may struggle in a browser tab; for those, use a desktop tool. Archives up to a few hundred MB extract without trouble on a typical laptop.
