Conditions d'utilisation
Effective date: May 1, 2026
Plain-English summary: Privvert is a free toolkit that runs entirely in your browser. Use it for legal stuff. Keep backups of important files. We provide it "as is" with limited liability. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina and the United States of America.
By accessing or using privvert.com (the "Service"), you ("you" or "User") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"), which form a binding legal agreement between you and the operator of the Service ("Privvert", "we", "us", "our"). The Service is operated from the United States and these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina and the United States of America. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Privvert is a free, browser-based suite of 80+ utilities. Every tool runs locally on your device using JavaScript, WebAssembly, and similar client-side technologies. We do not receive, store, or transmit your files.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If applicable law in your country of residence imposes a higher minimum age for online services, you must also meet that age; you are solely responsible for compliance with the law of the jurisdiction from which you access the Service.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to: (a) violate any applicable law or regulation; (b) infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, publicity, or other rights; (c) process unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or sexually exploitative content involving minors; (d) attempt to break, abuse, overload, probe, scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or anyone else's use of it; (e) bypass any technical limitation, rate limit, or access control. You are solely responsible for the files and content you process using the Service and for ensuring you have all rights necessary to do so.
4. Your Files & Content
You retain all rights, title, and interest in any files you process. Because all processing happens locally in your browser, we never receive a copy of those files and assert no ownership, license, or interest in them.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, content, and the "Privvert" name and logo, is owned by Privvert and protected by U.S. and international intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal or internal business use, subject to these Terms.
6. No Warranty — "AS IS"
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY OUTPUT WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS. The foregoing disclaimers do not affect any non-waivable statutory consumer rights you may have under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PRIVVERT, ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR FILES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE U.S. DOLLAR (US$1.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions the foregoing limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Privvert and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (i) your use of the Service, (ii) your violation of these Terms, or (iii) your violation of any third-party right or applicable law.
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Service are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States of America, and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to Section 10, the exclusive venue for any judicial proceeding shall be the state or federal courts located in the State of South Carolina, and you irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. You acknowledge that the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Where you are a consumer accessing the Service from outside the United States, this choice of law does not deprive you of any non-waivable consumer-protection right granted by the mandatory law of your country of residence.
10. Dispute Resolution & Class-Action Waiver
Except where prohibited by applicable law, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in the State of South Carolina, and conducted in English. YOU AND PRIVVERT EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. The arbitrator, and not any court, has exclusive authority to resolve disputes about the interpretation, applicability, or enforceability of this Section.
11. Export, Sanctions & U.S. Compliance
You represent that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country or person subject to U.S. sanctions or export-control restrictions, and that you will not use the Service in violation of any U.S. export-control or sanctions law.
12. Language & Translations
These Terms are drafted in the English language, and the English version is the sole authoritative and legally binding version. Any translated version that may be made available on the Service or elsewhere is provided solely for the convenience of non-English-speaking users and has no legal effect. In the event of any discrepancy, ambiguity, omission, or conflict between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail and govern in all respects, including for purposes of interpretation, construction, and enforcement. You agree that all communications, notices, and proceedings relating to these Terms or the Service shall be conducted in English.
13. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Privvert with respect to the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective date" above. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
