Om det här verktyget

Add a text watermark to every page of a PDF. Control text content, font size, color, opacity, rotation and position. Useful for marking drafts, tagging confidential documents, branding outgoing reports, or stamping document IDs.

Privvert renders the watermark behind the page content by default so it doesn't interfere with reading, but you can flip it to render on top for a stronger visual mark. Everything runs in your browser.

Vanliga frågor

Can I add an image watermark?

Currently text only. Image watermarks (logos, custom stamps) are on the roadmap.

What's a good opacity for 'DRAFT'?

20-35% is the classic look - visible but doesn't obscure the text underneath.

Does it modify the underlying text?

No - the watermark is added as a separate layer. Removing it in a PDF editor is straightforward (this is an annotation, not redaction).

Will the file size grow?

Barely - text watermarks are a few bytes per page.

Can the watermark be removed by the recipient?

PDF watermarks added this way are part of the page content, not the underlying text - they can't be peeled off with a one-click delete. A determined user with a good PDF editor can remove most things, so for legally significant marks, treat the watermark as a visual notice rather than a security control.

Does it work on every page automatically?

Yes by default. You can also restrict the watermark to specific pages or ranges if you only need to mark, for example, the cover and the back page.
