Privatlivspolitik
Træder i kraft: 1. maj 2026
The short version: your files never leave your device. We don't upload them, we don't store them, we don't see them. The Service is operated from the United States; this page explains what that means for you.
This policy explains how Privvert ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you visit privvert.com (the "Service"). The Service is operated from the United States and is governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina and the United States of America. We have written this policy in plain English on purpose.
1. Your files never leave your device
Every tool on Privvert runs entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript, WebAssembly, Canvas and similar client-side technologies. Files are processed locally on your device. They are never uploaded to any server we control, and we have no technical ability to access, view, copy, or retain them. This is the only sense in which we describe the Service as "GDPR-friendly" or "EU-safe": as a matter of network architecture, your files do not leave your device, and therefore do not leave your country or the EU/EEA either.
2. What we do collect
We don't require an account. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or address. To keep the lights on and improve the Service we collect a small amount of standard, non-identifying technical data:
- Page views and which tools are opened (not which files are processed).
- Browser type, operating system, screen size, and language.
- Approximate country and region (derived from IP — we do not store full IP addresses tied to your visits).
- Referring URL.
This information may be processed by U.S.-based service providers and stored on infrastructure located in the United States.
3. Cookies, analytics, and ads
We use lightweight analytics for traffic measurement and ads that keep the Service free. On EU/EEA visits, non-essential cookies are loaded only after you indicate consent via the cookie banner.
- Manage cookies in your browser settings at any time.
- See our Cookie Policy for details.
4. We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and do not build advertising profiles tied to your identity.
5. Data security
Because we don't receive your files, there's no file data on our side to breach. The Service is served exclusively over HTTPS.
6. International users & applicable law
Privvert is operated from the United States. By using the Service you acknowledge that any limited information we do collect (see Section 2) is processed in the United States, which may have data-protection rules that differ materially from those of your country of residence. Your statutory consumer-protection and data-protection rights under the law of your country of residence — including, where applicable, rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under the GDPR — are not waived by these terms; you may exercise them by emailing privacy@privvert.com, and we will respond on a best-effort basis.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (United States, COPPA), nor under 16 in the European Union. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below those ages.
8. Your rights — California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
9. EU/UK data-subject requests — non-binding accommodation
Although Privvert is not established in the European Union and is not a controller within the meaning of Article 4(7) GDPR for the purposes of in-browser file processing (because no personal data is transmitted to us), we will, as a matter of good faith and on a best-effort basis, respond to good-faith requests from EU/EEA, UK, and Swiss residents seeking to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of any limited analytics data attributable to them, where reasonably identifiable. Requests should be sent to privacy@privvert.com. Nothing in this paragraph constitutes an admission that the GDPR applies to Privvert as a controller or processor, nor a submission to the jurisdiction of any EU supervisory authority.
10. Governing law and language
This Privacy Policy is governed by, and shall be interpreted in accordance with, the laws of the State of South Carolina and the United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The English version of this Policy is the sole authoritative version. Any translation that may appear elsewhere on the Service is provided for convenience only; in the event of any discrepancy between the English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail and govern. This does not deprive you of any non-waivable consumer-protection right granted by the mandatory law of your country of residence.
11. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the "Effective date" above will change. Continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
